It encrypts any string constants in you application. For example, if you have
MyString = "This is some string, huh?"
and compile unencrypted, then "This is some string, huh?" will look exactly like that in the EXE. So, if you open the EXE in a text editor, you can read the string. With Encrypted, the string will be scrambled so it can't be read.
It probably does more than that, but that's what I know.
