I'm going to look into that. Just a note that I'm already trying to do something similar on the cursor adapter but it still gives me the error.

I have

.WhereType = 3

from the help file ("Includes the primary fields specified by the KeyFieldList property and other modified fields"). I don't know if this is the equivalent of the sys(3055) but I'm going to look into it, right now I have to run to a party :).
