Dean,

Re RNA/DNA: I haven't read the whole thread, but one might equally ask how gravity works, or why it doesn't have polarity like magnetism so we could use antigrav to save energy. One day I guess we'll figure it out.

For the rest, it boils down to faith, which is one of the tenets of most religions. Whatever people think, we can be sure that the Bible is correct when it reminds us to remember that "unto dust you shalt return".

recently I was privileged to see a highly respected lawyer give his retirement speech. He stated that being remembered for brilliance in law now seems an empty shell; he wished he could change his life to be remembered for morality, selflessness and decency instead. This from a confirmed athiest.

"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
