Some things you never forget. I was downtown Denver, standing on the sidewalk, looking at TV's in the window of an appliance store. They had speakers that could be heard outside. I'm not 100% positive, but I believe Walter Cronkite was the person I saw making the announcement.

I remember very few things from 1941, but I do remember Dec. 7th, probably because my parents and older siblings were so shocked. We spent a lot of time sitting by the radio, keeping very quiet so everyone could hear. Everyone around me seemed to be participating in the War effort, even me. I recall having a little red wagon, pulling it around town and collecting newspapers for recycling.

Movie theatres, during that period always showed newsreels prior to the main attraction. All the major happenings of the war was shown on the big screen, so we always saved our pennies to make sure we had a dime for the Saturday afternoon matinee.

>For those of you who are old enough to remember this date it is one, which you will not soon forget. It is amazing how people can remember exactly where and what they were doing at this time.
