It is amazing how robust those JPL projects are. The first of the last pair of rovers on mars went into safe mode. JPL was able isolate the problem, download and reload a boot program and get it going. The G-Probe seemed to have that same simple "pure" design.

So the data collected is still usable. So the mission would only need another 8 months or so of data collection. But the gyros have to be restarted. Does that mean another 60 days to recalibrate before data collection begins?
