This problem is related to VS.NET

I have some custom controls which I drag from the toolbax and drop on my form. The first time I build and run the app, it works just fine. the next time I go back to the form and view it in the designer the controls just disappear from right in front of me. Its totally bizzare !

I am building my controls and app in C#. I've done some reading on this, so here's some more information.
1. I have not manually edited / modified the InitializeComponents method.
2. I do not have circular references to my dll.
3. On looking at the code behind the form what I found was that the control references are there in the form but they simply have been removed from their containers.

For the life of me I cannot figure out why the designer does this ... this is quite frustrating.

Any help or suggestions would be hugely appreciated.
