"How did God create the Universe" is an entirely different question than "why are human beings on Earth?"

That you (and I) profess ignorance of the first doesn't mean that we should remain ignorant about the second.

In other words, the fact that a person believes in God doesn't necessarily mean he has to reject most of modern science.
