Hi All,

Who knows whether project files are upward compatible with earlier versions?
  • Can a pjx created in vfp9 be used in vfp8?
  • Can a pjx created in vfp9 be used in vfp7?
  • Can a pjx created in vfp7, rebuilt in vfp9, be used in vfp8?
  • Can a pjx created in vfp7, rebuilt in vfp9, be used in vfp7?
  • Can a pjx created in vfp7, rebuilt in vfp8, be used in vfp7?

Et cetera, although these examples are of most importance to me.

I know that features specific to vfp8 or vfp9 can't be expected to work in vfp7. But...
  • Will such features be ignored without error generation in vfp7?
  • Will such features get lost after a rebuild in vfp7?
  • Will the pjx remain its old structure as long as no new features are used?

Why I'm asking? I developed a project hook functionality that works fine in vfp8 and vfp9, but is useless in vfp7, because vfp7 has a bug in the projecthook class that is repaired in vfp8. So, I try to find out whether it's a viable option to rebuild my projects using vfp8/9 while still building the app/exe in vfp7 for the time being...
