Roxanne,

Have you thought about remote working? The company I'm currently under contract to in London offloads a portion if its programming to developers in India and gets very good results at good rates.

I believe the Les Pinter does the same sort of thing regarding Russian & Mexican developers and is very pleased at the results.

Regarding the comment about 'consultants', I wouldn't be anything else. I can pick the projects I work on (no, money isn't the overriding factor), I work best under time pressure and once the project is completed and handed over I can go on to something else.

It's not everyone cup of tea nor is it great all the time. There's no security, no pension, no paid holiday, no sick leave, no insurance, no perks.... and you're always classed as temporary staff usually meaning that you don't have the use of the clents facilities such as the canteen, gym ....

However, on balance it's what I want to do.
