Common sense and humanity is the basis of natural law and ethics. Religion was invented to displace the "natural" basis of law with devine providence.

Half of any population lives their life seeing monsters under the bed, werewolves in the woods and belives only elite evil worshippers would propose the world is anything but flat.

Devine providence allows us to ignore natural laws (like killing members of own species). Devine providence guided Hitler. Devine providence guides IDF troops through Palestine. Devine providence may have even allowed poll workers in our last election to "re-allocate" the votes.

Devine providence is the only reason, for example, Evangelicals support the Nazi like invasion of Iraq and the mass murder of Iraqis.

Natural law and Ethics are not contrived. They are common sense. Like the "Golden Rule" is common sense.

I don't mind cults claiming a flat world. I don't mind cults "dwelling" on the false, racial non-science of Creationism. But you said you have talked with murdersers. What is murder? Why isn't what the US is doing in Iraq mass murder?

I've heard everything from female circumsicion to "Iraq" was pretending to have WMDs to bait us into attacking. Now, what is the evengelical right's final fall back reason for invading Iraq?
