Create a report variable that is set to the amount field, set the Calculate option to SUM, and set the Reset Value to your data group. Use this variable in the group footer instead of the real amount field.

>2. I want to set the decimal format depending on the currency. It can be either 2 decimals or 3. In the Details band, I am using TRANSFORM(AMOUNT, gcDecimal) where gcDecimal it the format (either "9999.99" or "9999.999"). It works fine there. Only in the Group footer it's giving the **** when I try to sum it.
