SPT is what I was using. The program handled the conflict but I was hoping that I could have prevented the error with somesort of validation routine. I was thinking that a SP might have worked a little better. My current thinking has to do with need to use a validation routine. Beyond using validation to insure that the general format is ok - why not just "insert" and then handle any errors? I think the only reason I did any validation on the Unique (not the PK) key was because that's what I did when using dbf's. So I'm still wondering what everyone else is doing?
