Tom,

I miss the Bay Area fog, I always thought it was pretty cool ... it's not the same as the fog we have here.

That "sheet fog" sounds really interesting! I'd love to see a picture of it!

>You know what the fog is like in the Bay Area and Central Valley of California. When I was in the Air Force I was stationed at a radar site near Condon, Oregon (notrh central Oregon). The temperatures would get down to minus 15 F. What is interesting is they had something they called “Sheet Fog”.

>Combine fog and freezing temperatures and a thin sheet of fog would form between the rows of the fence wire that lined property lines. You would see miles of frozen fog sheets in the early morning. Then when the sun hit it the sheets would melt. I took pictures of this and never saw or heard of it anywhere else. It looks neat and a bit strange at the same time! :)

>>Nah, not too bad over here yet ... although they're predicting snow showers here in the valley for tomorrow, so we'll see. It's been too sunny over here to be considered "winter" yet. Eburg's in a valley and we typically get a temperature-inversion phenomena that leaves the whole valley fog-enshrouded for most of the winter. Gets downright depressing after a month or so of that. =(

>>Well, I haven't had to worry about that in a long time ... for better or worse. <s>

>>So, it sounds like you'll be switching to the DataSet approach instead? I'm a big advocate of DataSets, although to be fair, I've not even tried to use a DataReader, so what do I know? <g>
