one more try without the < hotkey marker messing it up.

Add a label, that has is right before the button in the taborder. Set the Label caption to your hot key i.e. \<A as the Caption, set it's Width to 0. You can't set it Visible = .f. because objects that aren't visible don't participate in the event handler.
