Hey Guenter -
It's good to "hear" your voice. It's been a while!

How about it? You mean, why isn't this in VFP9? Because everyone has their own favorite attributes they'd like to see in the product as an easy-to-set, dynamic property. And for each of those who wanted to see this, it'd be a quick fix, an initial rush followed by disappointment as they realised they really didn't get anything useful long-term.
Obviously I couldn't talk about any discussions I may or may not have been party to during the development of VFP9. But please trust the development team on this.
I'm sure that the "quick fix of selected dynamic properties" solution was discarded along with the "let's rewrite the Report Writer/Engine from scratch" solution in order to end up with a definition of scope that made sense given the available timeframe and development resources, and the ultimate expectations of the user base.
The end result can be a hard sell for some, I know it. But is it really true that FoxPro developers will eschew power for quick fix candy? Wouldn't you rather have rocket science? There's so much scope here for guys like you to take a specific feature and implement it, and gain guru-points.
>> Give my best regards to Lisa!
Will do.
>> Is Nancy Jacobsen still hanging out here somewhere?
I don't know. Um... Nancy? Are you there?
>> Do you ever go to Russian River?
We have not been to the coast recently.
Regards,
- Colin
