Tech support says they never heard of it working in VFP. They only test for VB. Yet you are recommending it. So it must work for you. What are you doing that I am not??

>>>I'm trying to solve a problem about receiving information from handheld comp to PC. Handheld has software which is using X-modem protocol and used to work under MS DOS. They use to use a third party programm to receive this info to PC. And now I have to do something simmilar probably using MSComm but as I know , I can be mistaken , MA cimm does not support protocols like X-modem and so on. Does anybody know something about it?

>>PDQComm is an Active-x control (written by Crescent, the actual creator of MSComm) and is an upgrade for MScomm. It supports Xmodem (3 variations, YModem (2 variations), ZModem, Kermit, BompuSerbe B+ file transfer protocols in single command operations. Also include Base TAPI set for Windows95. Available from Hallogram, and others. Works Great !

Hi Kenneth,
We are using PDQcomm Version 3.21 (3/5/97) with VFP 5 (Visual Studio & Service Pack 3), under Windows95. We do not experience any GPF's.

I assume you are using PDQcomm32.ocx, not PDQcomm16.ocx ? We have not worked in any environment except the above. It's true that Crescent does NOT provide technichal support for the control under VFP. We have not needed any.

Originally, our basic communications code was developed using MSComm32. Since we needed additional functionality (file transfer, scripting), we substituted PDQcomm32 control for MScomm32 control, in the original applications. 1 or 2 Delay parameters, between operations had to be adjusted (ports opened slower by 1 second, etc), and we were back in business. Now we are adding the new functionality. Most of the new functionality is working in a test environment at this time (2 machines), production code will be turned up 6/15.

HTH
Glenn
