At first / after reading the docs only I was quite unsure what exactly was described or what the differing options were meant for. I had a use case to start experimenting - the docs should be more explicit on the usage IMHO. Or you could say the "magic approach" without explicitely describing the mechanism behind updates and so on has some drawbacks as well<g>.
