As I said to her, that site specifically says, "Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) prevents connections to all IP addresses that are in the loopback address range except for 127.0.0.1." I'm using 127.0.0.1 for the loopback adapter. (Using localhost is really just an alias for the loopback adapter.)
The loopback adapter is working just fine. It's only localhost that's not working.
