How about using the backup with the working DE as a start and cut/paste everything else from the DEless form ? Might include minimal scx hacking to get the procs and properties, but should be no problem. If you don't succeed you might send me a zipped version of both scx/sct's to take a look.

update: If you are on vfp>=8, you might also check into opening you backup, saving the DE as a class and using this class in your current DEless form. end update
