Greetings to ALL who replied...

It appears that because I wanted to return a value from the initial screen, it was made modal. Only modal forms can return values. Since these were such small apps, I converted the return value to a global value and most importantly, made all the forms top-level and put in the appropriate Read Events and Clear events per Fred's suggestion! Works like a charm.

Because of all of your input, the problem(s) are history!
