>An interview I saw in 1989 with an Army General was interesting. The General expressed that video games were good for our children to play with. The use of a joystick and video monitor would help train our children for use of our weapon systems and those of the future.

>I can envision the President, Secretary of Defense and the Joint Chiefs of Staff sitting in a war room with video monitors from wall to wall. In front of each person is a joystick. The room is circular and divided like a map of the world. A series of monitors represents a critical area of the globe – one where we are at war.

>The military has a reduced number of troops, as American Military Personnel no longer engage in war directly. It is left up to our leaders to direct robots to destroy the enemy. This is an improvement over having military personnel in the field and we can have more wars around the globe. Another advantage is that we would not have to drop nuclear weapons on anyone.

>The power of technology is tremendous! We have gone from Pong to robot weapon systems.

The unfortunate aspect of this is that the folks who get paid to die are being removed from the lines but no relief is in sight for civilians in the line of fire. Better to just put the leaders in a cage death match and let the rest of us eke out our lives.
Opportunity is missed by most people beacuse it is dressed in overalls, and looks like work --- Thomas Edison
