He (should) have no worries about how he will be remembered. He will not be remembered for morality, though, which is what he now wants. With plenty of $, cars, houses, boats, a young lover, an enormous portfolio of successes... he seems to have earned everything worldly he could hope for, including the respect of his peers. Except for this new impossible goal he has set himself. Maybe he just wants to strive one last time against impossible odds, something for which he was already famous. I don't know.
