I would appreciate the sample app.

I will need to find a free bitmap editor that will create animated GIFs. I like graphics, so getting to play with them and call it programming appeals to me.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll let you know if I can figure out and take advantage of Cathi's sample.

>By all means this is not the answer to your question, but the periods are often hard to see. What i have found that works good is an animated GIF, to show the app isdoing something. When you connect to the ser start the gif, then when done reset the gif to a single image.
