I find posting the same question in multiple forums (especially very basic problems) to be similar to posting in multiple usenet groups, which has always been frowned upon - it's just bandwidth filler.

If you don't get a reply in your forum of choice then fine, post around. It probably means that you've got a hairy question. But it seems a waste to me to post a question to a bunch of forums when you know that it's a simple one

Just my view I guess.
