Ed,
    I tried just removing the 'READ EVENTS' command from my 'Main.prg' and it continues to operate, although not quite the way I expected. I was under the impression that I had to have a 'READ EVENTS' to anything to work in vfp. Obviously I have been slightly misled. Could you please shed some light on onewho is in the dark?
