>Can you explain what is "normal install" and "workstation install"?

What I consider a normal install is when I install the entire program. Executable, database and all the tables. I then build both a start menu item and a desktop icon that points to the application. This runs fine. In a peer-to-peer network, which most of my customers have, this is the install that I do on the computer that is to act as the server. In some instances, this is a stand-alone workstation where there is no network.

A workstation install is when I only install the VFP runtimes on the workstation because the application and data directory are to reside somewhere else on the network. I would like to create a start menu item and a desktop icon for the application on that computer at install time.

My problem is tat if this is a network workstation and the application resides on another computer, I don't know where it is. I can have the user browse to the installation directory on the network to locate the application but then how do I create the start menu item? I have found the way to create the desktop icon by searching the UT and downloading the "Create Shortcut" example.
