Hi Rene,
Lets try this again,
In the Server instance there is a "master" database there is a table titled “SYSLOCKINFO” in this table you can find out the locks which are granted, waiting and converting locks.
A good book which could help you get up to speed on being a DBA is title "SQL Server 2000 for Experienced DBA" by Brian Knight, ISBN 0-07-222788-5, the publisher is McGraw Hill \ Osborne. I hope this helps
