I am going to guess it is a 'run away query' because of the SUM(xinv_trn.QTY) and xinv_trn is not in the group.

VFP 8 is very picky about GROUPs now (got burned myself <g>) and I suspect VFP 5 is more picky than Fox 2.

Try writing the SQL in a more compliant syntax. Sorry no suggestions at this time myself for a rewrite, maybe tomorrow.
