Hi,
It is abit tricky to add/remove control to/from grid column visually.

* I assume you have drop grid control on form and set columncount.

* Remove control from grid's column
1. Open property sheet.
2. Click property sheet's combobox and drill down to your grid.column(n).textbox.
3. Click on your form designer (note, is form designer, not form, or any control on form).
4. Check if property sheet combobox is showing grid.column(n).textbox.
5. If step4 is yes, press delete.

* Add control to grid's column.
1. Open property sheet.
2. Click property sheet's combobox and drill down to your grid.column(n).
3. Open control toolbar.
4. Click on control you want.
5. Move your mouse pointer over grid.column(n). Mouse pointer show "I"
6. Click on the column.

HTH
