Same to you. Good to hear from you, been a while. I still monitor VFP forum messages but haven't been very active since we pretty much just do .NET dev now.
Good point. My machine name is "DAD" which is what I named it, which shows up as "DAD (LOCAL)" in the specification lists. But I didn't think this had anything to do with the fact that it was still the "(local)" or "(localhost)" machine. I must be missing something on this point. I've tried every permutation of local/localhost and it won't work.
I can live with it if I have to but I would like to understand the mechanism ...
