I've run into instances where running stored procs from QA works fine, but it takes an eternity for the same stored proc to execute via VS.NET (or an .NET app)
In our case, the problem was "solved" by clearing the stored procedure cache or restarting SQL Server. We ended up scheduling a job to clear the stored procedures cache every night.
