I hope this gets through in the right forum/category - looks like Michel & co. are changing things on-the-fly AGAIN!!!

Where do I find, in VFP Help, the proper "rules" for omitting arguments (parameters) in function calls.
Comes up for me with ASCAN(), which turns out not to seem to mean "omit" as defined in my dictionary but rahter "omit" in some specific VFP definition.
