Isn't the vertical size of a report object controlled by it's font size?

My memo field object on the report form is currently set to Arial Narrow 8pt and it is only taking up 1 line vertically in design mode. But when I preview or print the report, there is too much space between the lines.

>To change the spacing between the lines of a memo field, change the verticle size of the field you've placed on the report. The smaller the verticle size, the smaller the space between lines.
