Hello everybody,

On Thursday May 21st, the day after Devcon, Ken Levy and I will be conducting a high-level VFP6 training day at a location very near the Devcon hotel in Orlando Florida.

This is a good opportunity for people to learn more about the new version of VFP, developing internet applications, and about object-oriented application design issues including design patterns. Our goal is to pick-up where Devcon leaves off, and deliver maximum value in a short time using Devcon as an introductory starting point.

Of course, you don't need to go to Devcon to attend the course. The VFP6 non-disclosure will be lifted at Devcon, so you could consider this as a one-day post-Devcon state-of-the-art session open to all intermediate and advanced-level VFP developers.

We plan to start at 8:00 a.m. and go formally until 3:00 p.m., and thereafter informally for the rest of the day, through dinner and beyond. For those with departures on that day, we will sequence the material so the most valuable material is covered first, with a gradual evolution throughout the day into more situation-specific applications. After 3:00 (or so) Ken and I will be open for discussing any issues and questions you may have about VFP6, internet application development, OOP design issues, and modern-day application development in general.

We will soon post more information on Ken's website at http://www.classx.com, and you can register for the course at Whil Hentzen's booth in the Devcon trade show area, or the morning of the course on location. The price for this day is $299, or $249 for those who purchase (or have purchased) an advance copy the VFP6 Pros Talk Fox series that Whil Hentzen is publishing.

We're still finalizing the details. If you are interested, please email me at steveb@stevenblack.com or Ken at ken_levy@compuserve.com so we can get a rough idea of the room size, how big a breakfast buffet, how many lunches we'll need, and so on.

Please pass this message onwards to anyone you know who may be interested.
