>According to M$ docs (and also post from Bob I think) build number and revision number together represents date/time the app was built. The build number represents the number of days since 1/1/2000 and the revision number represents the number of seconds since midnight divided by 2.
>At first I thought the autoinc build number (like VFP has) was a better solution, but after thinking about it the date-time representation given by build and revision number sounds better. Well it is not that much better but atleast the user will not find out that you built the app 1001 times before you shipped it :)

Einar,

Thanks for the information.

I too was looking for a feature like VFP has. My thinking, however, was along the lines of a "build and smoke" model. In that model, you build, test, re-code, and build again until you have a build that doesn't fail the tests.

In my mind, this makes it a little more difficult to implement that kind of development model, but not impossible.

Thanks again,
George
