Running a simple report become very very slow

Check to see what your default printer is .. and make sure that printer is available. I've heard of problems where a default printer is a printer on the network, and when you disconnect from the network and have wireless hooked up at some other location, it takes FOREVER trying to find that default printer -- which isn't available any more.
