Hi Jason,

There is not yet a fundamental and proved theory of gravity. I lean towards gravity being physical interaction between mass and some other yet unidentified force, which influences the mass. Attraction between objects occurs in electromagnetic fields. Electromagnet fields are really any of the forms of energy that travel in waves like light, microwaves, xrays, TV, and Radio. All of these are really the same thing, that manifest within their respective range of wave lengths.

Electromagnetic fields and gravity are not the same thing. Gravity uses the inverse square, while electromagnetic field uses the inverse cube to determine force. Although gravity is a relatively weak force, it is much stronger than electromagnetic fields.

Mass and weight are two separate things. Although the mass of an object does not change, its weight can change depending on how great a force gravity exerts on the mass. For example, I am six feet tall and weight around 190 lbs based on the gravity force on earth. On the moon I would weight 1/4 x 190 lbs or around 47.5 lbs. In the emptiness of space I would weight zero. Never-the-less, I would have the same mass (e.g. automic mass in terms of atoms, etc.) in each of the three scenarios. Since there is a constant force of gravity on earth, for all intent and purposes, weight and mass become the same thing.

Under superconduction in the gravity of earth, an object can experiences a change in weight. The change in weight could only happen if the mass of the object increased or decrease, maybe from absorbing or releasing energy, or the force of gravity were alter exerting greater or lessor force on the same mass. Under superconducting conditions, it appear that the gravity force on the mass is shielded, rather than the mass of the object being altered. The shielding effect of superconduction may break the symmetry of gravity.
Such shielding of gravity could be very beneficial to man, such as acting as an unlimited souce of propulsion to drive industry, transportation, and even space exloration.
