I'ld rather have a set or sys() to protocol memvar accesses without mdot.

While your approach would work well in situations involving only code
from a tightly controlled group of (expirienced) programmers, it could break even more
easily when including other sources or indisciplined programmers.

Having a protocol enables me to fix even my own borderlines:
if A LOT needs to be done, I can build a patching routine.

And with such tools even the MS examples could be cleaned up
to be a better yardstick for "new" programmers.
