Same here (started with mFoxPlus 2.1 in 1989) - we had a bunch of code which used variable _text... and guess what, when textmerge was introduced, we had new bugs pop up everywhere.

So, the rule is never to prefix the variables the same way your tool does. Also goes to frameworks - I've seen an VPM app which followed its convention of naming all framework level variables s*... and of course, even local variables had a s* prefix :).
