Doing live video transfer over the net, we have been recommended to go with a Linux server because of its robust builtin mechanisms to handle such structure. But, if we are going streaming, will a Windows Server 2003 be good enough?

Is there such difference between both OS that would force me to ignore Windows and go with Linux for that part of the request we have?

If streaming is ok under Windows Server 2003, what would be the recommendations to consider?
