How does it compare to the actual cost there of purchasing Delphi? Not the black market price comparison, the actual retail price of each? Are they comparable?

>>Hi,Jim:
>>
>> I am an "forum-sa" of myf1, and not the owner, like Max too. I very apologize for what's you said. Generally, Our work is just answer questions from members, Remove some topic is an very sensitive things that always cause somebody's argufy, So we normally left that work to web master. But trust me, I will remove the topic as soon as you tell me the address.
>>
>> In china, there do have an lot of cracker, i think so as in america too.As i know, the first crack copy of visual foxpro 8.0 was born in 0day, and you can easy find the vfp 8's iso file from the p2p tools Called eMule, because of microsoft even never sell vfp8 in china, we have no other choice to got vfp 8.
>>
>> We are faithful user of fox, even there are lesser and lesser user in china today. We are developer, we use vfp to making live, So we very like to see that vfp never disappear from us, we do willing to pay for vfp, that's why we post this topic here.If we not, why not we just shutup, and carry on using the crach version?
>>
>> Max is an Boss of one of several fox company in china, as i know, almost every fox company in china are willing to buy legal copy for vfp, but it's looks like that microsoft have gived up sell vfp in china from vfp 6.0. Trust me, if microsoft adopt Max's advice, they can sell out several thousands copy in china at least, maybe even dozens.

>Hi,
>
>I'm from Indonesia. If you looked at my family name you'll know that I'm a Chinese too. I only want to say, that in a third world countries or even poorer country (such as Indonesia) the VFP prices is really high. Not many programmers who can afford to buy the license copy (they even hardly feeds their family). So software piracy and cracking things will always go on if the condition never change. To my surprised, I've met foreigner guys in a group (several times) buying it.
>
>But for a Company I think the price is not too high, although it is not cheap. I had worked for several company, and afaik, they always try to buy the license. Yes, not all company were willing to buy it. Especially a (very) small company. As I remember, one of my boss ordered from an authorized MS reseller. Another company I've worked for, the owner was hand carried the license copy from overseas. I don't know where he bought that.
>
>Having said that, since several years ago, I stopped to buy a piracy software for personal use. I only use what my company are willing to buy. That's why I still using VFP 7 and Win-ME. I can get VFP8 or 9 very easy if I want. I can guarantee that VFP9 will be in the market in just about few days after it's been releasing. And it will be only 1.5 - 2 US dollars.
>
>Finally, well, I guess this is not exactly what you want to hear. But, I think MS will not lower down the prices for third/fourth world countries. Even if they do, I don't think it will be lower than US$400. And I think MS knows, that if they only lower down a little, it is useless. It's still far beyond the affordable price for many people. So, I don't think MS will do it. Although I am hoping they will be lower down to less than US$100 <vbg>.

>Just my opinion
