Hi Mike,

There are many way to describe the same thing. For example, you might have a section (eg 640 acres) of property. An artist might go to the property and paint a beautiful landscape of the land. This would be a representation of the land from his point of view, and would encompass all the beautiful colors, textures, shadows and flow of the landscape.

A surveyor might describe the same property, but in a much different way. The surveyor would use his tools to describe the property per a flat piece of paper containing lines labeled with latitudes and longitude degrees with direction like north, south, east and west.

Which of the two would be describing the reality?

There is no right or wrong; it is different approaches to describe the same thing. How would you reconcile the artist concept of the property to the surveyor concept. It would be very difficult to do.

Likewise, the relative and special theory of gravity which is geometry and the quantum theory of gravity which is atomic and sub-atomic energy/matter/mass, both attempts to describe the same thing and are equally difficult to reconcile. Both are correct from its respective point of view. However, there is no mechanism in special and relative theory of gravity to describe gravity shielding which appears to be an interaction occurring at a quantum level.
