Niceties over, everybody will be in a good mood now :)

I have a system written in VFP6 which is going slow so for my Christmas break I've decided to convert (finally) to VFP8 using C/S methods.

All works fine until I change the key columns in my tables to AutoInc and then ODBC always fails to read the data.

The plan for this software is to disconnect the data first using VFP8 and then giving alternatives such as MSDE, Access, SQL, etc for the database.

I don't want to go straight into converting the database to something other than VFP, I still have to support existing systems and convert the whole software package away from VFP which has too many limitations (I've moved to Ireland where VFPers seem to be extremely rare - most people over here have never heard of it).
