Hi Gary:

Sorry for the unintended inference. It will be interesting to see how the new C# development goes... BTW I looked at the Devexpress site just now, and the new XtraReports looks really good, most notably the table of contents feature that I like so much in Crystal Reports.
Best wishes
Mike

>Hi Mike:
>Your statement above almost makes it sound like I have left Fox for .NET. You might have noticed from another thread today that I have eagerly downloaded VFP9 from MSDN. I am still a "dyed in the wool" VFP/Codemine developer. The main problem for me this year was that the work I had been doing on a USA based system for quite a while unfortunately came to an end. I had some more work lined up with Dave but he was so busy, he struggled to get the specifications for the new work together. I was working on another UK system that involved Codemine and SQL server. That was going really well but the company in question had some serious cash flow problems and had to put the development on hold. They want to re-start the work when things pick up but that doesn't pay the bills right now.

>Bottom line - a job came along that involved maintaining a VFP system whilst a C# / .NET replacement system is being developed. The C# development-lead liked my ideas on frameworks and development methodologies and wanted me involved in the new system development, hence the C# coding. At the new company, I have also been doing an awfull lot of T-SQL development and had the opportunity to work with a really, really good SQL Server DBA from whom I have learned an awfull lot. The company in question want the new system to be oriented towards thin client access to avoid the hassle of application deployment - they have thousands of PCs and have found deployment of runtimes to be a major logistical hassle. They also found it difficult to find VFP talent so, they decided to go with the "main stream".
