No confirmation that I remember. Certainly no request for additional info (given the good repro code I supplied, I wouldn't have expected such a request). I sent a new report with repro code directly to YAG, Ken, Calvin, and John yesterday, though I know they don't want bug reports coming through that way. I was trying to escalate it. Ken sent me a "don't send bug reports to me" response and I gave him a bit of my frustration in response, but then I "made nice" and he's agreed to check into what happened with this bug (though he gave me "no guarantees" and I took that to mean no guarantee he'll get back to me or find an answer or that the bug will be fixed). I guess that's better than nothing, but I'm not sure how much better. <g> The weird thing about submitting a bug report is that it just brings up an e-mail with some body text that you fill in with the details. I would have thunk that it would be a web form (and that would make me feel better about it getting into the "known issues" database or whatever their term for it is). I'm so excited about these new features, but I hope they realize that fixing bugs can be quite beneficial, also.

>>Sure, no problem. But the bad news is that although I submitted a report on the error and repro code to MS, the problem was not fixed and still exists in VFP 9. I believe it was introduced in VFP 8 - running the code under VFP 7 should produce the expected results. I consider this a serious error since it involves a record pointer movement not specifically instructed by the program or initiated by the user, but for some reason the VFP team did not fix it. I don't know if it fell through the cracks or they just decided it wasn't serious (I would have a hard time fathoming that conclusion!).

The only item that will come up is the sample form I submitted. It is based solely on VFP base classes and has only enough code to reproduce the problem (and it has instructions on how to reproduce it).
