How about the adverising campaign to sell washing powder in Saudi (or somewhere arabic). The wizz kids identified that the target audience were largely illiterate so they decided to use pictures. The result? On the left of the ad a pile of dirty washing, in the centre a large picture of the washing powder box and on the right a pile of neatly folded, clean clothes.
Didn't sell any washig powder, though, as Arabs read right to left!!!
