I use Authorize.NET through MerchantPlus which has been working great and is very easy to integrate with a simple HTTP interface which means no special APIs or other complicated configuration on the server.

Whatever you do at this stage I would look carefully to avoid any provider that doesn't provide an HTTP interface since API configuration and installation on a server is a PITA (such as Verisign's PayFlowPro which requires API and COM object).
