Title:
Slow printer dialog on Terminal Server
Environment versions
Network:
Windows 2003 Server
I've got a VFP8 executable running via Terminal Server. When I run the app directly either on a local machine or from the server itself, the select printer dialog box pops up immediately. When running via TS, it takes up to a minute to display. I'm getting lots of complaints from the users about how long this takes.
The VFP8 executable is started directly from the .RDP, so nothing else should be interfering. TS is mapping the machines' local printers so they can be printed to, but disabling this feature does not solve the slowdown. Sometimes the printer dialog NEVER appears, instead it asks the user to install a printer instead..
