I agree with Tore. Do not use the general field to store a picture. I has an App that did that and then a Microsoft security upgrade changed the way that the general field handled the picture. Instead of showing the picture, it showed the icon of the picture and the name of the file.
I had to put the path to the file in a character field to solve the issue, and change the form from an OLE link to a picture container. The only issue is correcting the pat to the picture file between the development area and the production area.
