Luis,
I know Symbol has a handheld device (both Palm OS and Windows CE OS) that has a built in barcode scanner.
This is the link to the Symbol 1800 using Palm OS:
http://www.symbol.com/products/mobile_computers/mobile_palm_spt1800.html
To transfer data between the Palm and the PC you will have to create a conduit (conduit is a dll) that is called from the hotsync program. I am not sure if you can use VFP to create a conduit (I used unmanaged C++).
When my company did their research the Symbol device was the only Palm OS device that met the requirements (among the requirements was a barcode scanner).

Hope this information helps.
